Product Description Fearsome bounty hunter Boba Fett is back, stalking the space ways in his ship, the Slave I. The sophisticated anti-detection gear and stealth hardware make sure that his quarry never sees him coming until is too late. The Slave I can take on any foe with its bombs, blasters and launchers that really fire. Han Solo is trapped in carbonite and locked in the storage hold, but you can save him. Cockpit and wings rotate for flight and landing. It includes Boba Fett, Han Solo in carbonite, Bespin Guard, Dengar and IG-88. Also, it includes 537 Lego pieces.
Amazon.com Collectors will find this rendition of Boba Fett's ship from Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back to be the best one yet when compared to previous incarnations of Slave I. It's bigger than the original Lego model (7144), which was released in 2000, and its bricks have truer colors. In addition, this version has about 100 more pieces than the 2002 release (7153) and is offered at a lower price point, plus has a much sturdier chassis. Features of this Slave I include a rotating and self-leveling cockpit and foils, a trap door that opens up to drop space mines, a top hatch that opens and launches a large missile, two side cargo compartments that store and drop rockets, and a cargo rack door that opens to fit a stenciled brick of Han Solo frozen in carbonite (a favorite piece among collectors). Other minifigs in this set include Boba Fett, a Bespin guard (with African-American skin tone), and two new figures--bounty hunters, IG-88 and Dengar--who are not found in any other Lego sets. The 537-piece Slave I takes anywhere from three to five hours to build with some help from the illustrated instructions. The manual also contains a full inventory of all pieces with part numbers in case a piece is lost and builders need to order a replacement. --Cristina Vaamonde

Slave 1 Ver. III July 22, 2010 Shademan12 This is a great product! Those you read that say they needed glue are wrong. This kit is superbly durable and stays together. The only weak point is where the long nose attaches to the rest of the ship.
Pros:
Bombs from behind
Rotating wings with attached cockpit
Boba Fett
Dengar
Hidden compartments
IG-88
Hidden Missiles (not flick fire :D)
Bespin Guard
Boarding ramp to hold Hansicle
Cons:
The missile in the chest part is a major con for me. It takes up valuable room that could be used for storage space
Not enough compartments
Still isn't minifig size
Door way on boarding ramp is too short for mini fig.
Over all I really recommend this ship. A very challenging build plus endless hours of play!
Laser cannons on the nose are too big
Han Solo in carbonite... again
Cool Star Wars ship! January 8, 2010 Colleen O (Menomonee Falls, WI USA) My son and I looked everywhere for this toy and were so excited to finally find it on Amazon. It is a very cool ship, however, these large ships are very fragile and can fall apart easily. He loved building it (me too) but doesn't really play with it much because it's hard to handle. He really enjoys the smaller vehicles for everyday play.
The famed Slave One! September 5, 2009 This is a great lego!!! It has 537 pieces and comes with the minifigs: of course, Boba Fett, Dengar, IG-88, and a Bespin Guard. Here some of the pros and cons:
Pros: Very durable, great minifigs, great detail, lots of hidden weapons including a launching missile (it shoots pretty far).
Cons: NOTHING!!!
It's a medium-hard build, it took me about 4 hours of continuous building to finish.
Happy building!
Better than I expected it to be May 20, 2009 J. Tomas I ordered this toy before I read the reviews. After reading the one-star reviews, I got worried about my purchase, as they mentioned the necessity of gluing the thing together, which is not a good sign for Legos. Then I consoled myself with the thought that I'd be getting a Lego Boba Fett, which for me would almost make the entire cost of the toy worth it. When I got the shipment, I forgot all the negative reviews and got to work. It's not as bad as the one-star reviews make out. The toy is actually pretty sturdy, and does NOT need glue to hold together. I don't see why one would resort to glue on Legos, unless you plan to just display the toy and not use the parts for anything else, which defeats the purpose of Lego. Using glue on Lego would just ruin the versatility of the toys, since you can't disassemble and reassemble the toy as something else, which for me is one of the main attractions of Lego.
The various compartments and moving parts make for more interesting play, in keeping with Boba Fett's bounty hunter character. The Lego Han Solo in carbonite is also good for a laugh. The other minifigures are a welcome bonus, even if I have little use for a Bespin guard. The only negative comment I can really make about this is that the instructions could be clearer. I found myself backtracking every now and then to make sure I was still assembling it properly. Aside from that one hitch, I really can't say anything bad about this toy. This is Slave I, for crying out loud!
It did not have all the pieces!!! January 25, 2009 I got this toy as a present one time and I was very happy, but it was missing pieces! Now it is over 150 dollars! Based on what it looks it was a really great toy,but be careful where you choose to buy it.I got it at target. I would still buy it though...
