| Customer Reviews: Epic!! June 7, 2009 HG (California) This statue is based on the original character designs by master artist Ralph McQuarrie, who designed all of the original Star wars characters including Darth Vader.
The statue is very acuurate to the original Ralph McQuarrie master piece painting! Where Darh Vader is engaged in a light-saber duel with Luke Skywalker. The poses of the characters are dramatic and capture the epic feel beautifully. The size is impressively big and makes for a great display.
The statue is very easy to assemble, there are just a few pieces for each character which can be easily snapped together. Quality of the statue is very high and made of a durable material.
The production run on these statues are limited editions.
A must have for any Star Wars fan or any Si-Fi fan!! Highly recomended.
Pure Star Wars Spirit March 10, 2009 Frederic Moreau Got a good deal from EntertainmentEarth through amazon, and I got the box very quickly (compared to other orders).
The box is huge, and I first thought that it was already build inside the box!
But no, eveything is very well packed, and even though the box got hurt (but well, it travelled the ocean to reach my flat) everything was in perfect shape. Few minutes later, all parts were build and it's just GREAT! A must have for any SW fan.
Only small, very small, let down, is the floor. Each character has it's own floor, but mine don't really match colorwise (Luke's floor looks more worked)..but well, really not a big deal...and Luke's saber could be a little bit more transparent to catch light better...anyways, I love it it's so beautifull.:)
If You're a Fan of Ralph McQuarrie & Star Wars, this is a must have February 10, 2008 Manic Metallurgist (Stamford, CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ralph McQuarrie is well known for his early concept art that served as the "model" for the Star Wars universe that so many fans around the world loved. From paper to 3D this set from Kotobukiya is a must have. Although this scene never occurred in Episode IV, the duel between Darth Vader and Luke Starkiller are brought to life in vivid color and in their signature poses as shown in McQuarrie's artwork. The only thing that would have made this spectacular is if the lightsabers actually lit up and if it was signed by Ralph. The "mechanized" look of Vader's helmet is very detailed as is Luke's breathing apparatus. Vader's helmet was "softened" for the movie and there was no breathing apparatus used by Luke. If you are a true fan, you must have everything McQuarrie, you must have this piece. It is pricey but you won't be disappointed.
